She Ra goes world wide- International Items

We all know that She Ra lives on another planet, but she has gone global. When I was growing up, I of course was too young to realize that other countries also had She Ra. Stuff we never got here! So imagine my surprise and awe when I started researching one of my favorite child toys.... to find out there were items I had never heard of!

Not only were there items that we had here that I never had, but there were things such as books, that other countries got that we did not. One of the examples would be Lady Bird books. These were smaller than the average book and hard back. I came across some while buying on eBay years ago. The name of the book I found?

Spirit is Kidnapped

Here's a photo of the book!

Does anyone have any She-Ra items that they wish to share? Id love to see items that are not mainstream ( especially stuff like clothing, books from other countries, etc)

She Ra Identification Book- Worth it? I dont think so

I'm always looking for identification value guides for toys. I own so many Barbie books I could start my own library!

So when I saw the one for She Ra I was super excited. There are so many toys that are from my past that I'd love to be able to look up things that I dont have. So I bought it. I was super disappointed. Everything in this book was information I could have looked up on the internet for free. Im sorry, but if you are going to put a book together, please have more information then the normal person would have access to. I was really looking forward to some rare stuff like maybe some coloring books, or even the beach towel I had, but nothing was in it beyond the generic dolls, outfits and the playsets that were put out.

Needless to say, the book is being returned and I will be doing my own investigation of the She Ra line to add to the book that im working on. And I can promise that I will be putting in more rare and obscure stuff then what was in this book.

Im sorry to the author, if and when she ever reads this. But take note from Sarah Sink Eames, who writes the wonderful Barbie books. You could learn a lot from how a identification book SHOULD be produced.

To those of you looking to purchase this book, unless you know nothing about She Ra and do not have time to look up basic information then this would be worth it. I paid 16.00 for mine. If it would around 4.00 I would have kept it and found it to be worth it. But not 16.00.

She-Ra takes on the beach!

Ok, so we all know of the regular line of toys that came out, but so many dont remember that most toy lines also came out with other items- like toothbrushes, sleeping bags, nightgowns and BEACH TOWELS!

I had completely forgotten i had this. When we were at my parents house staying we were going through various tubs and totes in my mom's storage room. We came across a tub full of stuff that my mom had kept for me and low and behold this was in there-

And it was in such awesome condition. A little bit of fading but thats about it. I ended up selling this as well to a collector on eBay that im sure will take good care of it. But it was awesome to to find it and remember :)

She-Ra: Home Sweet Home

When I was moving (again) from one house into my parents house while we were working on the house, I dug out some old stuff that I had been storing in a closet for many, many years. And I found my She-Ra Castle!

I remember playing for hours with this , inviting my Barbie dolls and my brothers GI Joe dolls to come over for a visit in her high rise in the sky. I used to love putting GI Joe on the castle throne, and it had this pull cord on the back to raise her up to sit atop her castle, and when GI Joe was bad, you know when he treated Barbie or Frosta with disrespect, Id put him on there and pull the cord really hard and watch him fly out and into the bedroom into exhile. Good times!

Suprisingly, I had pretty much 90 percent of the things the castle originally came with. And it was all in relatively good condition. Minus some fading on the outside of the castle and discoloration on the inside pink floors. I had some good times thinking back to my childhood... and then I sold it on eBay to another lady for her daughter.... HER DAUGHTER! Not her, but generations past the child of the 80's. I think its awesome that so many mothers are sharing with their children the shows, toys etc they grew up with. So Rock on to you, whoever you are out there, for giving my loved toy a new home to be played with and not just displayed.

If one day I hit the lottery and can afford to buy one mint in the box, you have to know I will. Just to own one for a moment in time... then I will resell it. This is what I do. I track down old toys of mine or things I wasnt able to own at the time, and just to be able to have it, photo journal it- thats good enough for me. Then its on to the next loving family or collector!

Here's a YouTube Video of a Commercial

If you come across this post and you OWN a Mint in box She Ra castle... and would like to sell. Well, keep me in mind. I also would love to see pictures!!! Im scouring ebay to see whats available right now as we speak, or um i type? And your site just might be linked her while I look through the web. Hope you dont mind me linking ( if you do please let me know ill be happy to take your link off) Anyways.... here's what came with the castle:

If you are now wanting to buy one on eBay the one i found Mint in Box they wanted 499.00. Thats half my mortgage! No offense but as much as I love it, id rather have a house to sleep in.... I dont think me and my husband and all my stuff could shack up in the crystal castle!

Happy Hunting!

Calling all vintage toys- this is your time to shine!

I've had a love of vintage toys for a long time. I began collecting things that I grew up with since I was 17 years old... I'm 31 now. It started with just Jem and the Holograms dolls, you know the ones that could change their appearance with the tag line "Showtime Synergy"? I grew up with them and refound a love for them when I got older.

A lot of people think that collecting toys is childish. I think it's a lot of fun. It reminds me of simpler times in life and the thrill of the hunt in finding those rare and hard to find items makes me giddy. But it is not limited just to those dolls now... oh no. Now it's all about hunting down so many other lost and forgotten toys of my past.

So this blog , and the following website i'm working on, will be a collection of all sorts of goodies. From what I find, to what i'm looking for, to what I am selling. And various places across the web that I believe should be showcased as well.

So hang around and see what shows up!
